Gypsy website...

Post by GraceB on Mon Aug 04, 2014 10:46 pm

I've used this website before for RP in other places and though it outlines the very strict ways and beliefs of a romani people, please note that we don't have to follow this.

It's just a resource to kinda get into a mindset to play a gypsy and goes into detail things about superstitions and the hardships of life traveling and why they have beliefs around cleanness and such.

Hope you enjoy.

Found another site with some helpful info. I'm still reading through it because it is long but it seems pretty good so far. Some info that will not matter to us like birthing traditions but it's helpful to know.

I'd also like to state how unfair finding good garb is for men. Under clothing it describes at length the iconic gypsy female attire and then for men it says essentially "they don't have anything special except for bright colors, a vest, some jewelry, and a scarf around the neck for special occasions." I am most displeased by this. Suspect

There is also another page on this site with a "Gypsy Code". I read it and it is pretty awesome guidelines for us; going to post that in a different thread.
